Things to do around The Swallowtail Restaurant & Burnham Yacht Harbour

Walks and country park

The swallowtail is located right on one of the coastal walk routes, a haven for wildlife. If you walk along the river to the east you will find a small beach and access to the Riverside Park with children’s play areas. A lovely experience for children and adults to share fun, water and wildlife and make memories.

Burnham on Crouch & District Museum

As a former Oyster Port, Burnham on Crouch has an interesting history which is displayed at our local museum a short walk along the river path east from the Yacht Harbour to town.

With local finds and exhibits from the stone age to the present day covering fishing, the oyster fishery, farming, boat building and the local iron foundry. The collection is displayed over two floors in a former boat builder’s premises built around 1910 overlooking the Quay.
